Beginner Knitting Class

Ready to learn how to knit? Join us for a beginner-friendly 4-week knitting course designed to teach you the fundamentals while working toward a project you can be proud of!

The course will meet once a week for 1½ hours, for a total of four classes. Each week, we’ll build on the skills from the previous class while working toward your scarf.

Students will learn how to cast on, knit, purl, bind off, read a simple pattern, and fix common beginner mistakes. By the end of the four-week course, each student will have completed their own knitted scarf and gained the skills and confidence to continue knitting on their own.

No previous knitting experience is required! This class is perfect for complete beginners or anyone looking for a refresher on the basics.

Class Schedule 🧶

The Beginner Knitting Course will meet on Wednesdays from 9:30–11:00 AM on September 23, September 30, October 7, and October 14. Classes will take place in Oxford, MS. The exact address will be sent out in an email after purchase of class.

Class Kit 

A class kit is required and must be purchased separately with registration. The kit includes all of the yarn, knitting needles, and other supplies needed to complete the class project. Students will have everything they need to work on their scarf throughout the four-week course.

Please note that students are required to purchase the class kit in addition to the class registration fee.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel your registration, please email collegetownyarns@gmail.com at least 7 days before the first class. Cancellations made at least 7 days before the start of the course will receive a refund of the class registration fee. Cancellations made less than 7 days before the start of the course are non-refundable.

Because class kits are prepared in advance, kit fees are non-refundable once the kit has been prepared. If you are unable to attend the course, you may pick up your kit at College Town Yarns.

If College Town Yarns cancels the course due to insufficient registration, participants will receive a full refund of both the class registration fee and the class kit fee.
